During my postdoctoral fellowship at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mpa-garching.mpg.de\">MPA<\/a>, I was part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/snfactory.lbl.gov\">Nearby Supernova Factory<\/a> and performed remote observations with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ifa.hawaii.edu\/88inch\/\">UH88 telescope<\/a> on Mauna Kea at Hawaii. Dahle<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Together with two colleagues from ESO and MPA, tonight we are starting a three week observation campaign for PESSTO at La Silla. We will\u00a0use the EFOSC2 and SOFI spectrographs to obtain\u00a0optical and near-infrared spectra of recent supernovae\u00a0that are investigated by the collaboration. In addition, we will also classify new transient candidates, which we obtain from wide-field transient surveys like e.g. the La Silla QUEST survey or <a href=\"http:\/\/gsaweb.ast.cam.ac.uk\/alerts\/home\">photometric alerts from ESA&#8217;s Gaia satellite<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Although a theorist by training, I am also involved in observational projects.
